A* I am a failure at producing hydrated child scent. Again, Syn has no idea what I’m talking about. She goes around 3 times and finds nothing at all. Repeats the same thing 3 more times.

B* So I no longer believe that Syn is finding the target scent by looking for her own slobber on the cap of the saltshaker. I put cotton balls in her cheeks (her Don Corleone impression) and then used them to wipe down the caps of all the non-target shakers.

  1. Here is Scott Smith's protocol for creating HC and is what I followed creating HC (8) from Donor 1.


    A scent sample was made at BG = 75. A 2 X 2 Gauze Pad was used and saturated with saliva. The scent sample was then placed in 3 oz of distilled water, shaken and left for 15 min.

    The distilled water was then sprayed onto 5 new gauze pads which were double bagged and frozen.

    The original sample was removed from the distilled water and used for training for two days. (Threw it out after only two days due to wear and tear.)

  2. On a separate chart, I am tracking each Sample (by number). The day testing began, the day it was discarded, the resultant testing. I am tracking each HC (by number), the day it was created, the day testing began, the day it was discarded, etc. I am tracking each HP. From which Donor. Sample #. Date of hydration. And all HC it produced.

    This was it would be immediate apparent, for example, that there was a problem in the creation of HC from that particular HP. Because of the test results 2 days in a row.

    But the Sample #, HP#, HC#......all are important and need to be included in each report. By backtracking I could follow the description "same HC used yesterday", but it would be both easier and precise if, instead, the report said HC1.
