ORIGIN of SAMPLE: Tonic/clonic seizure; spit samples collected on cotton rounds). Clonazepam given after 2 minutes of seizure activity.
COMMENTS:
A* Nice. The error was the can the scent was in yesterday.
B* Very fast, very accurate. Had to go around once because she was breathing out as she passed the correct one.
C* OK, Syn is getting faster and more accurate the older this sample gets. This is not just obvious in the times and %. She’s not missing and going back, she’s starting her alert from 6” back, but she’s clearly aimed at the correct can, not drifting by and lying. These three sessions took place over 8 hours.
D* So is the first sample that was useless because Syn couldn’t find it now detectable? I replaced Sample 5 with Sample 4 which has been sitting out at room temperature for 4 days. Syn switched to it with no introduction at all and found it quickly and accurately.
E* For curiousity’s sake, I put both Sample 4 and Sample 5 on the wheel. Syn alerted to whichever one she came to first with no difficulty. Sample 3, hydrated child, tomorrow. (HC1)
Wasn't Sample 4 (the one that Syn couldn't find) frozen on Day 1? But once it was thawed, Syn found it???
ReplyDeleteAh yes, my memory... you're right, I got confused. Not so miraculous after all, this was the hydrated parent, not the dry parent. I told you I'm not thinking clearly!
ReplyDeleteSample 4 was the frozen gauze. Sample 5 was the hydrated parent.
